Solution 1: In some cases we can also say this particular error as incompatibility error. Yes, incompatibility error because if App developer has mentioned minSDKVersion higher in its App than your Android phone API level (phone is version outdated according to the app). Also if maxSDKVersion is lower than you Android version even then it OS will not let you install the app ( app outdated in this case).
SO check if app is compatible with your Android version. To check you Android OS version Go to Settings > About Phone > System Information or Software information. There might be difference in app apk compatibility with Android Cupcake 1.5, Donut 1.6, Eclair 2.1, Froyo v2.2, Gingerbread v2.3, Android Jelly bean 4.1, Honeycomb 3.0, Ice-cream Sandwich 4.0, Kitkat 4.4, Lollipop 5.0, Marshmallow 6.0.
Solution 2: Make sure App is Fully Downloaded completely. If app is not full downloaded or is Corrupted then it will give error.
Solution 3: Re-download the App or try to download it from some where else.
Solution 4: Make sure you have enabled the permission to install the apps from Unknown Sources. Enable it by going to Settings > Security > Scroll down to “unknown Sources” and enable it.
Solution 5: If you are developer and testing the App, Repack the App and then try installing it.
